Just about to share this on Bluesky but wanted to quickly say this here: this is absolutely stunning. There's so much I want to dwell on after reading this, but this part in particular:
'This isn’t resolution. It’s ritual.
A soft returning. A small, stubborn kind of hope.'
That is what I want to cling onto. I love your Sunday morning ritual. I hope I can do the same.
Sorry for the delay in replying, Megan! I’ve been moving countries and changing jobs, so writing (and replying!) has taken a bit of a back seat recently.
But I just wanted to say how much your comment meant. Honestly. I was nervous putting this one out (it’s the most personal thing I’ve shared so far) but knowing it resonated with someone, that it made you feel something, really means a lot.
That line you picked out is one I clung to while writing. I think I needed to remind myself that healing doesn’t always look like clarity or closure---sometimes it’s just carving out a ritual and letting it hold you for a bit. I hope you try it. I reckon you’d love the music.
And thank you so much for sharing it on Bluesky too!!! Deeply appreciated x
The feelings this post left me whilst reading it - your writing is beautiful and lyrical. I am a Christian and reading your story stung. I hope you find your path towards the light again and your wounds heal.
